Katarsy is derived from 'Catharsis': a term from the ancient Greek narrative
Catharsis means purification or growing transformation.
A Catharsis is an emotional discharge through which one can achieve a state of moral or spiritual renewal or achieve a state of liberation from anxiety and stress. An 'aha-erlebnis', the puzzle is finally complete, therefore the logo.
Our problems often exist by a narrowed view on reality, a tunnel-vision.
'Our map is not the territory'. To broaden the 'map', I like to use a short and strong story with a message, humor or confrontation, or a trip to philosophy, science or spirituality.
Katarsy also wants to be a figurative 'catalyst' to enhance growth for individuals and organizations.
One of Katarsy's research areas is recognizing and integrating our shadow sides.Shadowwork facilitates transformation, paves the way towards more authenticity and energy.
There also exists something like the collective shadow. For example, we no longer realize how strongly we are connected to nature; we actually áre nature. Unfortunately, our connection with nature has over centuries moved to our shadow. The face that we collectively show now is one of men above nature, which results in the exploitation of earth in a less sustainable way.
As on the individual level, the shadow indirectly comes back to us through so-called external problem situations. This collective shadow is turning against us through, among other things, climate change and a sea full of plastic.
With Katarsy I want to reduce my ecological footprint by supporting WeForest. For 2018 I subsidized the planting of 300 trees in Zambia.
